How to read the tide clock ?
The tide clock of tides provides information on the state of tides quickly. The needle turns clockwise and points to the state of tides at a given moment in time as “T”:

Horloge maree

- Low  (ebb) tide  - right part of the dial.
The needle indicates high tide (PM=pleine mer)) + X  the number of hours remaining until low tide (BM= basse mer).  The cycle is shown as PM+1+ 2+3+4+5 BM.

- Rising tide - left part of the dial.
The needle indicates low tide (BM) + X the number of hours remaining until high tide (PM). The cycle is shown as BM+1+2+3+4+5 PM.

NB :
Unlike commercial tide clocks which are based an average tide of 6 hours and 12 minutes, this instrument uses tidal forecasts published on the website.  Thus the tidal hour is adjusted on a cyclical basis.
